10:00 am - 3:00 pm (Pacific time)
With deep respect and love, we remember the life and legacy of THELMA JO MOORE, who was born on March 6, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and departed this world on July 6, 2026. Thelma’s journey was marked by devotion to family, enduring faith, and the quiet joys that filled her days.
Throughout her 81 years, Thelma exemplified strength, warmth, and a steadfast sense of care that touched the lives of all who knew her. The guiding light of her family, Thelma was the beloved wife of the late Fred Moore III and the cherished daughter of the late Dorthy Evans and step-father Alfred Evans. She was granddaughter to Henderson and Addie Green, whose memories she honored throughout her life.
Those who remain to celebrate Thelma’s memory include her son, Kenny Moore, and daughter, Tracey Moore. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren—Ceejay Grant, Neisha Grant, Esti Grant, and Jalon Moore—each of whom she adored deeply. Her pride and joy were further magnified by her great-grandchildren: Exodus Grant, Enoch Grant, Zariah Grant, and Zayden Grant. To all of them, Thelma was a constant source of love and unwavering support.
One of Thelma’s greatest accomplishments, one that she held closest to her heart, was the profound love she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were, in her words and actions, truly her world. She found immense fulfillment and happiness in watching their lives unfold, celebrating milestones and everyday moments with the kind of attention and encouragement only a devoted grandmother could provide.
A woman of faith, Thelma’s spiritual life was deeply important to her. She drew particular inspiration and comfort from her church community, especially Bishop Noel Jones Church in Gardena, where her faith blossomed and she found renewed purpose.
Thelma enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She found comfort in watching classic television shows like "Leave it to Beaver," delighting in timeless stories that brought laughter and nostalgia into her home.
Visitation to honor the life of THELMA JO MOORE will be held on Friday, July 25th, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Risher Mortuary & Cremation Service, 1316 W Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640. Friends, family, and all whose lives she touched are invited to pay their respects and celebrate her memory.
As we remember Thelma, we hold her enduring love and legacy in our hearts. Her devotion to her family, her faith, and the gentle spirit she shared with all who knew her will never be forgotten.
