Sonoye Kokubu was born on September 29, 1925 in Tokyo, Japan and entered into eternal rest on September 1, 2020 in Rosemead, California at the age of 94.
Through great passion and endless love, Sonoye dedicated her life to her family by providing a loving home for over 75 years.
She leaves behind her loving family: Daughters: Hisayo Uchino of Mililani, HI and Amy Hirata of Rosemead, CA, Son-in-Law, Keith Hirata of Rosemead, CA, Grandchildren: Kyra Hirata of Rosemead, CA, Kaeden Hirata of Rosemead, CA, Yutaka Uchino (Wife, Michelle) of Stanton, CA, Mana Malinofsky (Husband, Darrin) of Wentzville, MO, Masaru Uchino (Wife, Rachel) of Mililani, HI, Sam Kakitani ( Wife Eri) of Sand Diego, CA, Masatsugu Kakitani (Wife, Saori) of Torrance, CA, Inochi Kakitani (Wife, Sairi) of Utsunomiya, Japan,Masaki Kakitani (Wife, Eiko) of Hiratusuka, Japan. Sonoye was blessed to be a great grandmother to: Ian Malinofsky, Cai Uchino, Leanna Kakitani, Tiger, Sheena, Simon and Seigo Kakitani, Hiroto Kakitani, along with other family and friends who will love and miss her dearly.
Sonoye was met at Heavens Gate by her Loving Husband, Kimio Kokubu, her daughter, Sumiye Kakitani and son-in-law, Tsunenori Uchino.
