Scott Erin Ramey, 75, was born on November 26, 1945 in Craig, Colorado to William Ramey and Josephine Tharp. He entered into eternal rest on September 25, 2021 in Lynwood, California.
Scott was intelligent and hardworking, providing for his family as a software developer for 50 years.
Scott's daughter, Minta, shares this about her father:
My dad was a country boy at heart. He settled down in the city of Downey with Mom in 1990 but lived the rest of his life making it a point to get out into the wilderness as much as possible. He loved to hunt, fish, go camping, and he shared that soul piercing attraction to getting off the beaten path with both of his kids. With my brother and me, it was outdoor activities and learning how to fix and build things with our hands. With my mom, the love of his life and best friend, it was traveling the world. Because she was his world. Anyone who knew Scott knew that the apple of his eye was his wife, and that to make her happy meant he had done what God put him on this earth to do: to love. Their 35 years of marriage were full of faith, love, respect, and admiration. Dad’s priority was first and foremost, his family. He cherished the time he spent with us and the memories we made. He loved his friends dearly and loved to chat with anyone who had the time while he was on his daily walks with Remy, the family pup. He was a man who enjoyed being with people, and people enjoyed being with him. Though God called him home too soon for us, we know that while he was here, Dad lived the way that he loved. Strongly, deeply, and without regrets.
Scott leaves behind his loving wife, Yadira, and family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Downey SEAACA. Scott loved dogs, and was a big advocate for adoption over breeding to save dogs’ lives.
