Rosalie Castillo, a devoted wife and mother, was born on June 7, 1935, in Los Angeles, California. She passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the age of 90.
A Catholic woman of deep faith, Rosalie attended St. Benedict Parish in Montebello and graduated from Sacred Heart of Mary High School in 1953. Later on, in 1955, she married Alfonso Castillo at St. Alphonsus Church. They built a life filled with love and commitment that has spanned over 70 years.
Rosalie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether she was stopping to smell the roses, tending to her garden, or quietly admiring the beauty of nature, she embraced each moment with gratitude and peace. Even a trip to the store, browsing through every little thing, brought her genuine delight. She also loved reading Catholic literature, playing cards at home or with family, and joining in bingo games at the St. Benedict’s Church festival.
She was a wonderful woman—kind, warm, and caring. She took great pride in her home and devoted herself to her family. Together, Rosalie and her husband, Alfonso, raised their family in Montebello, where he still resides. Her family is forever blessed to have been guided by her love, compassion, and patience.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Elizabeth Marquez, Richard Castillo, Carlos Castillo, Rosemary Esparza, and Grace Ulloa, and by her late son, Alexander Castillo. She is also survived by her grandchildren—Alex, Michelle, Cassandra, Benjamin, Christopher, Nicholas, Melissa, Danielle, Andrew, and Amber—and great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ariana, Ethan, and Wren. Rosalie’s gentle yet generous heart, quiet strength, and beautifully expressive spirit touched everyone around her. She will be remembered with love and missed beyond measure.
Visitation will be held at Risher Mortuary in Montebello, California, on October 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a Rosary service beginning at 4:30 PM. The Mass will be held the following day, October 24, 2025, at St. Benedict Church, starting at 9:30 AM.
Rosalie Castillo leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire her family and friends for generations to come.
