RITA VERA ARGOTT, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, in Downey, California, at the age of 77. Rita was born on July 9, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, a city where her story began and where she cultivated a life full of love, dedication, and joyful moments surrounded by family.

Rita’s warmth, spirit, and unwavering love were the heart of her family. She took great pride in her role as a mother. She is survived by her loving daughters, Annette Ledesma (Alex), Renee Mostad (Jeremiah), Roberta Camacho (Kevin), and Rita Sanchez (John), as well as her devoted sons, William “Sonny” Argott, Jr. (Erin), and Andrew Argott (Melissa). Rita’s family extended across generations, blessing her with grandchildren who filled her days with joy: Aleena Villanueva (David), Elias Ledesma (Destiny), William Argott III, Baylee Ledesma, Darius Ledesma (Nicole), Olivia Argott, Amelia Argott, Annalise Argott, Andrew Argott, Jr., Julianna Mostad, Caleb Mostad, Ariella Argott, John Sanchez, Jr., Alonzo Camacho, Vincent Sanchez, Sunny Camacho, and Camila Camacho. She was further blessed with great-granddaughters Capri Villanueva and Winter Villanueva, with whom she shared special bonds and tender moments.

Rita was also a cherished sister to Gloria Campos (Tony), Josephine Valdez (Ray), and Christine Gonzalez. Together, the sisters built an enduring camaraderie, often expressed in memorable outings and heartfelt dinners, moments that Rita truly treasured.

Her life was a testament to devotion—the joy of family gatherings, the pride she felt watching her children and grandchildren play sports, and the laughter and memories created around a dinner table with her sisters. Rita found comfort in the simple pleasures, from watching re-runs of Little House on the Prairie to exchanging her famous words of affection. When surrounded by loved ones declaring, “We love you,” Rita’s signature response was always, “I love you, more!”—a phrase that encapsulates her boundless affection.

Family and friends are invited to honor Rita’s life, beginning with a Rosary on August 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, located at 10827 Pioneer Boulevard, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. A Mass will follow on August 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the same church. Rita will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, 966 Potrero Grande Drive, Rosemead, CA 91770.
