Obituary

With deep love and remembrance, we honor the life of a devoted father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, born on May 26, 1939, in Los Angeles, California, and who passed away on March 8, 2026.

The youngest of seven children, and the first of his family born in the United States, he grew up in Boyle Heights, CA, where he attended school and formed lifelong friendships he cherished throughout his life.

As a young man, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Though his time in service was cut short due to family responsibilities, he received an honorable discharge, reflecting his commitment and integrity.

At just 19 years old, he married and began building a family, eventually becoming the proud father of two. Throughout his life, he embraced many roles, each marked by warmth and dedication. For many years, he worked as a beautician, bringing confidence and joy to those he served. Later, he became a personal assistant and driver to various television and film celebrities, a role that reflected his adaptability, professionalism, and personable nature. He also gave back to his community through his involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, where he spent several years supporting and mentoring young people, leaving a lasting impact on many lives.

In the last decade of his life, he resided in an assisted living home, where he received care while maintaining his independence. He continued getting around Los Angeles and surrounding areas using public transportation, a testament to his enduring spirit and love for exploring the communities around him. He had an extraordinary sense of direction, navigating the city with ease as if his mind were a living map, and was always ready with a great food recommendation for anyone who asked.

He will be remembered for his resilience, kindness, storytelling, and the many lives he touched. His legacy lives on through his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his daughter, Katherine; his son, Paul; his grandchildren, Eric, Sarah, Katherine, Natalie, and Joshua; and his great-grandchildren, Raymond, Leah, Alana, Noelle, and Eric II.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May his memory live on in every familiar street, every shared meal, and every story told in his honor.
