Obituary

Miguel Medina was born on November 11, 1980, in Los Angeles, California, and passed away on October 21, 2026, in Long Beach, California. He will be remembered as a man of strength, loyalty, creativity, and deep devotion to the people he loved.

Miguel found joy in many passions that reflected both his discipline and his artistic spirit. He enjoyed taking fishing trips to Seal Beach and the marina with his father and brother, times that brought together family, tradition, and the peace of the water. He took great pride in restoring his classic 1963 Chevy Impala from scratch, a project that spoke to his patience, skill, and love of craftsmanship. He also loved calligraphy and tattoo art, using them as outlets for his remarkable penmanship and creative expression.

His interests were wide-ranging and deeply personal. Miguel enjoyed assembling lowrider bikes from catalog kits, and he was dedicated to maintaining a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition and a daily workout regimen. He loved restoring and modifying vehicle sound systems while listening to his collection of classical music, blending technical talent with a refined appreciation for sound. In the kitchen, he was an amateur chef who especially enjoyed bringing family together with large pancake breakfasts that became cherished moments of warmth and connection.

Miguel also treasured time with his nieces and nephews. He was known as the “cool uncle” from the time he was just 15 years old, a role he embraced with joy and affection. Boxing was another important part of his life, not simply as a pastime but as a dedicated lifestyle that reflected his focus, commitment, and inner drive. He believed in building deep, lifelong friendships and treated close friends as family. Miguel was always willing to help anyone, and those who knew him will remember how fiercely he protected his loved ones and how unconditionally he loved them.

He is survived by his mother, Maria Dolores Aparicio Rosales; his sisters, Yolanda Medina, Maria Esmeralda Garcia, and Maira Medina; and his brother, Jose Patrocino Medina. He leaves behind a family who knew his generous heart, his steady presence, and the special way he made those around him feel cared for. His love for family was evident in the time he gave, the meals he prepared, the laughter he shared, and the loyalty he offered so freely.

Visitation for Miguel Medina will be held on November 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Risher Mortuary & Cremation Service, 1316 W Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640. A Rosary will also be held there on November 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Miguel’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know his kindness, strength, and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
