After a lifetime spent caring for her family and the children of her community, Marynell has gone to her reward.

Marynell Steburg passed away peacefully on May 29 with her husband and children at her bedside.

Marynell worked as a civil servant for over 30 years, but her true avocation was serving the children of the community as a leader in youth sports. From the time her first child was old enough to swing a bat, Marynell was engaged in Little League Baseball, serving over the years as a coach in Lakewood-Cerritos Little League, league president, and assistant district administrator of the Little League district covering Long Beach, Lakewood, Bellflower, and Hawaiian Gardens.

Marynell had been in declining health for several years and finally lost the battle while in hospice care in Whittier. With her were her husband of 47 years, Art, and her children, William and Robert.

Services are pending. In lieu of flowers, Marynell would have preferred donations to local youth sports organizations (and especially Little League Baseball).
