An esteemed figure in the educational community, Maria was celebrated as a leading math teacher and served as the president of the Greater Los Angeles Math Council. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom; she was admired for her leadership in the math teacher association and was recognized for her innovative approach to teaching geometry through her artistic geometric drawings.
