MARIA DE LA LUZ NEVAREZ NEVAREZ

Maria de la Luz Nevarez Nevarez, born on November 6, 1941, in Durango, Mexico, departed this life on October 30, 2025, in Whittier, California. A devoted mother and grandmother, Maria's life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to creating a loving and inviting home for family and friends.

Maria found immense joy in baking, where she showcased her talent and creativity through the making of exquisite cakes and bread. Her passion for baking not only filled many kitchens with delightful aromas but also brought warmth and happiness to those who were fortunate enough to share in her culinary creations.

She is survived by her treasured family, including her sons, Jovino Nevarez and Jesus Nevarez, and her daughters, Berta Nevarez, Hortencia Nevarez, and Patricia Nevarez. Maria also leaves behind thirteen beloved grandchildren and four cherished great-grandchildren, each of whom will carry forward her spirit of love and generosity.

A visitation will be held in her honor on November 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Risher Mortuary & Cremation Service, located at 1316 W Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640. During the visitation, a rosary will take place at the same location, beginning at 1:00 PM.

As we remember Maria, we celebrate a life rich in love, warmth, and the joy she spread through her baking and the welcoming environment she cultivated for all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
