Lillian Hazel Brooks passed away in Downey on July 2, 2010 at the age of 89 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Downey First Baptist Church. Viewing will be Friday, July 9, 2010 from 5-9:00 pm in the Downey First Baptist Chapel.
Lillian was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has resided in Downey, Ca. for 45 years. She taught art in the Downey Unified School District for 25 years. She was Past President of the Downey Art Assoc. and the Pacific Art Assoc. in Marina Del Rey.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Brooks of Downey, her sons, Fred Drilling of Maryland, Steven Drilling of Texas, and Larry Drilling of Anaheim, and her daughter, Lynn Drilling of Long Beach. She also leaves her step sons, Richard Brooks of Ca., Peter Brooks of Florida and Brian Brooks of Anaheim and her step daughter, Karen Winters of Iowa. She leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
