With profound sadness and deep respect, we announce the passing of Lajunta Ann Shopfner, who peacefully left us on May 11, 2026, in Lynwood, California. Born in Alex, Oklahoma, on April 13, 1933, Lajunta lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.

Lajunta devoted over two decades to her career as a teacher's aide, where she made a lasting impact helping children learn to read. Her gentle guidance and encouragement nurtured countless young minds, embodying her passion for education and care. Beyond her professional life, Lajunta was renowned for her vibrant personality—fun-loving and incredibly sweet until the very end. She delighted in caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with babies and family alike.

Her passions extended into her hobbies and interests, where she found joy in dancing, gardening, and tending to flowers and birds. Lajunta’s love for music was evident through her beautiful singing voice, which graced choirs and wedding ceremonies, leaving a musical legacy that touched many hearts.

She was happily proud of her faith and her identity as the Lord’s child, a cornerstone of her life that provided strength and solace throughout her years.

Lajunta will be dearly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, affectionately known by her family as grandma, Grammy, and Granny. She leaves behind cherished living family members who will carry forward her memory with love and honor.

Her passing reunites her with her beloved husband, Charles Shopfner Jr., who preceded her in death. We find comfort in knowing they are together again at Heaven's Gate.
