July 6, 1951 – April 1, 2026
It is with deep respect and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Rose Greenwood, a remarkable woman born in California whose vibrant spirit touched all who knew her. Kathleen departed this life on April 1, 2026, in Monrovia, California.
Kathleen was truly an exceptional athlete, celebrated for her formidable talent and dedication across multiple sports. A trailblazer in her time, she was a proud member of the first professional women’s football team in Los Angeles, known as the the Dandelions. Her love for athletics extended to golf—her true passion—tennis, and softball. This passion for sport was a defining feature of her life and earned her admiration from many around her. In her later years, Kathleen embraced new interests and found joy in playing video games, particularly favorites like Mario, Donkey Kong, and Zelda, demonstrating her playful and curious nature.
Among all her accomplishments, Kathleen held the greatest pride in her beloved family, particularly her niece Kristina Hollenbeck and her great nephew Grayson Walsh. Their successes and happiness were a source of immense joy and fulfillment to her.
Kathleen is survived by her loving wife, Candace Kuhn; her sister, Carol Hollenbeck; her niece, Kristina Hollenbeck; and her great nephew, Grayson Walsh. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, strength, and spirited determination.
