Joseph Gonzales, 70, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 28, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, Joseph was a devoted husband, father, Tata, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Joe, or “JG” as he was affectionately known, lived in the City of Commerce with his beloved wife of 31 years, Mary Lou. He spent most of his adult life working as a radiator technician. After retiring, he truly enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. Almost never seen without his signature newsboy cap, Joe loved “lunching” with the people he cared about most.

He was a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, had a soft spot for rescuing and caring for cats, always made sure his family had a clean car, and often had an old Western movie playing in the background.

Joe adored his wife, his three daughters, his three stepchildren, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren—all of whom brought him endless pride and joy. He will be remembered for his warmth, his gentle heart, his generosity, and the deep love he had for his family. He will be cherished always and forever missed.

All who knew and loved Joe are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, May 1, 2026. A viewing will be held at 11:15 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at St. Marcellinus Church, 2349 Strong Ave, Commerce, CA 90040. A reception will immediately follow at the Veterans of Foreign Affairs, 16157 Gale Ave, City of Industry, CA 91745.
