Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we announce the passing of James Oropeza, who entered into eternal rest on March 7, 2026, in Pico Rivera, California, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 22, 1972, in California, James lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering faith, and boundless love for his family and friends.

James was a man of remarkable dedication and kindness. He was blessed to marry his soulmate, Sandra, with whom he shared a loving and devoted partnership. Together, they built a family that was the center of James’s world. He was a devoted father to Lorenzo Oropeza, and Mia Oropeza, who carry forward his legacy of strength and love. He also lovingly welcomed Thomas Valenzuela, Destiney Chaidez, and Autum Chaidez into his life. James found great joy in being a grandfather to Aurelia, whose presence brought light to his final months. He was also a proud brother to Tomas Oropeza, Sergio Leoni, Ray Oropeza, and Yolanda Oropeza, who stood by him through life’s many moments.

Known for his loyalty and deep friendships, James was a man people could always rely on. His passion for life was evident in his love for classic cars, which he restored meticulously, bringing their natural beauty back to life. An avid sports fan, James delighted in rooting for the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Dodgers, attending numerous games and sharing thrilling experiences with those he loved. Beyond these interests, James found joy in gathering around the table with family and friends, where laughter and heartfelt conversation created lasting memories.

James’s faith was a cornerstone of his character, providing strength and guidance throughout his life. Those who knew him remember a man whose spirit was generous and whose heart was tender. His passing leaves a void that words can scarcely fill. As we reflect on his journey, it is clear that James’s wings were ready, though our hearts were not prepared to say goodbye.

Family, friends, and all whose lives James touched are invited to honor his memory at the funeral service to be held on March 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at The Ark Montebello, located at 931 South Maple Avenue, Montebello, CA 90640. Following the service, burial will take place at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA 90601, beginning at 1:00 PM.

James Oropeza’s legacy of love, dedication, and faith endures in the hearts of all who knew him. May we find comfort in the memories he has left behind and in the knowledge that he is at peace.
