It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Imelda Ramirez Gonzalez, who left this world on March 4, 2026, in Los Angeles, California. Born on November 20, 1968, in Jalisco, Mexico, Imelda was the eldest of eight children, a role she embraced with unwavering strength and devotion throughout her life.
Imelda dedicated 29 years of her career to the aerospace industry, where she worked with Cast Rite Corporation. There, she cultivated not only a professional reputation marked by diligence and resilience but also deep and lasting friendships with her coworkers, whom she regarded as an extended family. Her remarkable work ethic was evident to all who knew her—she was known for showing up and giving her best, even during times of personal illness.
As a woman of transparency and bold honesty, Imelda was never afraid to speak her mind. She brought light and warmth to every gathering, known as the life of the party who loved to dance and share an occasional drink with close family and friends. Imelda was also cherished as the keeper of all secrets and the solver of worries—the steady presence that brought comfort and understanding to those around her.
Family was at the heart of Imelda’s life. She cared deeply for her mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, children, and grandchildren. Gathering around the dinner table was one of her greatest joys, where she would lovingly prepare her beloved pozole and pancakes—a culinary legacy that will be profoundly missed. Among her happiest memories was visiting her grandson in Bakersfield, affectionately known as her “Lagartijo,” and sharing in these precious moments.
Her spirit of adventure and love for nature were reflected in her many travels. Notably, she experienced a meaningful visit to Hawaii last year, her first since coming to the United States as a young child of five. Though she planned to return this year, fate had other plans. Imelda also found solace in frequent trips to Las Vegas, a place to unwind after demanding days at work, and in camping excursions at Las Cañadas Campamento in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
Imelda’s personal journey was marked by profound love and endurance. She was preceded in death by her spouse of 28 years, who entered eternal rest in November 2020, and her father, who passed away in April 2019. She leaves behind a rich family legacy with eight children and seventeen grandchildren who will carry forward her memory and the values she instilled.
Services to honor and celebrate Imelda’s life will begin with a visitation on March 27, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Risher Mortuary & Cremation Service, located at 1316 West Whittier Boulevard in Montebello, California. A rosary will be held there on the same day at 3:00 p.m. A Mass in her memory will take place on March 28, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Sanctuary at 4100 East 2nd Street, Los Angeles, California.
Imelda Ramirez Gonzalez’s legacy is one of love, strength, and unyielding dedication to family and community. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains alive in the hearts she touched and the home she so lovingly nurtured. May she rest in eternal peace.
