Obituary

GERMAN LUCERO LOPEZ, born on July 31, 1967, in Mexico, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, in Duarte, California. His journey through life was marked by hard work, devotion to his family, and a deep passion for his craft.

From an early age, German displayed a keen appreciation for the beauty in everyday things, especially those crafted from wood. As a skilled wood finisher, he dedicated his life's work to restoring and enhancing the elegance of cabinets, furniture, and timeless homes. His expertise was recognized by all who worked alongside him, each project benefitting from his extraordinary talent and attention to detail. To many, German was not only a craftsman but also an artist who brought life, artistry, and care to every piece he touched.

At the heart of German's life was his beloved family. He is survived by his son, Carlos Lucero; his daughter, Celeste Lucero; and his sister, Leonides Lucero. As a loving "Abuelito" and "Tato" to his two grandchildren, German’s compassion and warmth left a lasting impression on the youngest generation of his family. His presence in their lives will be cherished and remembered fondly, as he embraced every moment spent with them.

German’s devotion to his family and his craft defined his days. He believed in hard work and in finding joy and meaning within it, a lesson he imparted through quiet example more than words. His family, friends, and all who knew him will remember his humility, kindness, and the special touch he brought to both his work and his relationships.

A visitation will be held on August 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, located at 1901 South San Gabriel Boulevard, San Gabriel, CA 91776. The following day, a Mass in his honor will be offered at the same church at 11:00 a.m. on August 28, 2026.

German Lucero Lopez’s legacy of dedication, artistry, and love endures through his family and all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
