In Loving Memory of Gabriel Ojeda

Gabriel Ojeda was born in Chacala, Durango, Mexico on June 3, 1935. 

At only five years old, Gabriel suffered the loss of his father, but he learned what it meant to be strong and to help provide for the people he loved. Alongside his mother, Isabel, and his siblings, Ubaldo, Eugenio, Hernando, Audelina, and Lydia, Gabriel moved to Culiacán, Sinaloa México.

Gabriel grew into a hardworking, determined, and loving man. He became the proud father of three daughters, Maria Angelina, Paula Leticia, and Martha. A few years after Martha was born, Gabriel met the love of his life, Dolores, at a birthday party. It was there that their story began. They fell in love, married, and built and went on to welcome four more daughters: Nellie, Rosamaria, Lorena Yesenia, and Claudia. Together, they raised seven daughters and created a home filled with love, sacrifice, laughter, and devotion.

Wanting to give his family a better life, Gabriel came to the United States through the Bracero Program. He worked tirelessly because his dream was always bigger than himself: he wanted his wife and daughters to have opportunities he had never been given.

As soon as he was able, Gabriel brought his wife and their three daughters to the United States. Two years after their youngest daughter, Claudia, was born, the family was able to obtain their residency, allowing Gabriel to reunite the rest of his daughters with them. Through years of hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering love, Gabriel helped give his family the opportunity to grow, succeed, and build their lives in this country.

Gabriel was a man who loved deeply and supported his family wholeheartedly. He was a father who believed in his daughters and encouraged them to work hard, never give up, and make something of themselves. His sacrifices became the foundation upon which his family built their lives.

Gabriel was also known for his wonderful sense of humor. He loved to joke and always found an opportunity to make people laugh. His laughter, stories, advice, and personality brought joy to those around him and created memories that his family will carry forever.

Gabriel's greatest legacy is not measured by what he owned, but by the family he built and the lives he touched. The values he taught, the sacrifices he made, and the love he gave will continue through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and generations to come.

Dad, your sacrifices gave us a life filled with opportunities. Your love gave us strength. Your humor gave us beautiful memories. And your example taught us what it means to love and provide for a family.

We will carry you with us always. We love you, and we will miss you more than words can ever express.

Gabriel is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dolores, and his daughters: Maria Angelina, Paula Leticia, Nellie, Rosamaria, Lorena Yesenia, and Claudia.He is also survived by his grandchildren: Magdalena, Oscar, Gabriel Alfredo, Arlene, Ferroel, Joel Carmona, Jeannette, Lorraine Aguirre, Anna Fage, Victoria, James, Sarah, Jacob, Rebecca, William Calix, Abraham Peralta, Nathalie, Lianne, Andrea, Bethany Gutierrez, Sophia, Yesenia, and Mario Gabriel Vega.

His great-grandchildren include Madeline, Kathryn Constantino, Nicolas Carmona, Autumn Elisabeth Carmona, Melodie Juliette Carmona, Angelina Allen Moreno, Ethan Carmona, Abigail Lilly Carmona, and Castiel Robert Calix and his great-great-granddaughter, Clara Juliette Smith.

The funeral services will take place at 10:30am with a viewing beginning at 9am at the San Fernando Mission Church with burial services taking place at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
