Frank Michael Aragon passed away at his home in Rosemead, CA on November 14, 2016 surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was 80 years old. The youngest of ten children Frankie was born to the late Francisco and Frances (Maez) Aragon in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 11, 1936. He was 13 when he moved to Los Angeles with his Mother and Father to join other members of their family.
There Frankie graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955. He went on to attend Trade Technical College and worked later in life as a Design Draftsman. Frankie was also a proud member of the National Guard for eight years and was honorably discharged. He married Lilia Tello in 1964 and they made their home in Rosemead with their two daughters. They were married for 52 years until his passing.
To Frankie, family was everything. He would make it a point to attend all family celebrations. He was always the first one to arrive with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. Loyal to the end, he could claim several lifelong friendships of which he was very proud.
Frankie was an avid reader for much of his life and could discuss any subject with ease. He particularly loved Science Fiction and History. He loved bear claws in the morning with his coffee and ice cream at night for dessert. Chile from New Mexico made a regular appearance at the dining table, served as Red or Green, but never Christmas! Multiple trips to Vegas with his nieces and nephews were a favorite hobby and his week was not complete without the purchase of his Lottery tickets. He will always be remembered for his strong character and moral compass, as well as his sense of humor and happy laugh.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Lilia Aragon of Rosemead and his two daughters; Debra Aragon (Mark) Cavataio of Escondido and Cindy Aragon (Rick Busch) Whitlock of La Verne. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren; Megan Cavataio of Escondido, Blake Whitlock of La Verne, Eric Cavataio of Escondido, Ryann Whitlock of La Verne as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 27th. Beginning with a Mass at 10am at the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in San Dimas (724 E Bonita Ave, San Dimas, CA 91773) followed by a luncheon from 12n-3pm at Villa Tepeyac in West Covina (2200 E Garvey Ave. South , West Covina, CA 91790)
