Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Florence Eseroma, also known as “Lole.” Florence’s life was a story of grace, devotion, and unwavering love for the people around her. Born on November 15, 1948, in American Samoa, Florence was the second daughter of Talia Eseroma Moa and Luisa Maiava. From her earliest years, she carried within her a quiet strength and warmth that would become the hallmark of her life.

She spent her childhood in Aua, where she began her education before transitioning to Nu’uuIi with her family. Those formative years shaped the values she carried throughout her life — faith, humility, perseverance, and deep love for family and community. As a young woman, Florence moved to Hawai’i, where she attended Kamehameha High School and graduated in 1965. Determined to continue her education, she later earned her Associate of Arts degree from a community college in Hawai’i.

Soon after, Florence made her way to California, beginning a new chapter filled with hard work, resilience, and purpose. She lived in several cities over the years before eventually settling in San Gabriel, where she created a home that became a place of comfort, laughter, and gathering for those she loved. In 1979, she purchased what the family lovingly called the “Dream House,” a reflection of her dedication and determination to build a life rooted in love and stability.

Florence devoted many years of service to her professional career. She worked at Pennzoil from 1985 to 1995, and later continued her career with Quin from 1995 until her retirement in 2016. Through every season of her working life, she was admired for her integrity, dependability, and kindness toward everyone she encountered.

To know Florence was to experience genuine kindness in its purest form. She was, simply put, one of the most beautiful human beings — a woman whose compassion was incorporated into her soul. Her generosity extended far beyond words; she lived her life in service to others, always placing family, friends, church, and community at the center of her heart.

A devoted member of the United Samoan Church, Florence faithfully served through the church choir and the women’s fellowship group, Mafutaga Tina. Her commitment to her faith community reflected the depth of her spiritual life and her desire to uplift those around her. Whether through song, fellowship, or quiet acts of encouragement, she touched countless lives.

Florence also believed in caring for herself and found joy in staying active. She loved spending time at the gym, embracing health and wellness with the same discipline and positivity that defined every part of her life.

Above all else, Florence cherished her family. She was a beloved sister, devoted auntie, and treasured friend whose presence brought comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her laughter, generosity, and gentle spirit will remain forever woven into the hearts of all who knew her.

Though her earthly journey has ended, Florence’s legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the friendships she treasured, and the community she served so faithfully. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and an enduring example of kindness, faith, and love.

Her memorial service will be held on May 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Samoan Church, located at 600 E. Double Street, Carson, CA 90745.
