Esther is survived by her 4 children; daughter Margaret Huerta of Whittier, daughter Maria Elena (Gene) Chavez of Huntington Beach, Esther Velasquez Flores of Los Angeles and son Carlos Joseph (Cecilia) Velasquez of Whittier. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and her siblings; Josephine Rivas of Montebello, Ignacio Penuna of Fresno, Juan Penuna of Clovis, Jovita Penuna of Fresno and Maria Lopez of Fresno. Esther was greeted at heaven's gate by her loving husband of 50 years, Lazaro Velasquez, her son Lazaro Velasquez Jr. and her siblings; Beatrice Ayala Sornoso, Isabel Penuna, Arthur Padilla and Vera Canales all who preceded her in death.
