Esther Aceves, affectionately known as Ter, 81, was born on May 18, 1944, in Los Angeles, California. She passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025 in Claremont, California, surrounded by family.
Esther grew up with her father, Juan Aceves, and her mother, Luz T. Aceves, in the Boyle Heights, California area. She was the youngest of seven; Socorro A. Acosta, Antonia A. Arriaga, Leonor M. Aceves, Herminia A. Valenzuela, Emilio Aceves, and Nellie A. Baeza.
Esther is survived by her sister, Nelli A. (Jesus) Baeza, and a close-knit family.
Esther was a resident of Rosemead, California, for almost fifty years. The last three years she lived in a Memory Care Unit at an Assisted Living Facility.
Esther worked for Texaco, Inc. for many years. In 1975, she was offered a position with Texaco, which took her and her mother to Houston, Texas. They lived there one year, before moving back to California. Esther loved to dance, listen to music, including church hymns, travel, go to family gatherings, go to the mall, go to the movies, go out to eat, watch Live with Regis and Kelly, and attend mass on Sundays. She was a devout Catholic.
In addition, she loved her family! She had three Goddaughters and a large extended family, and made sure to never miss a holiday or birthday. She loved sending greeting cards. Esther will be dearly missed by her sister, Nellie, and numerous nieces and nephews, including her many family members and friends, who love her very much. A special thanks to her loving in-home caregivers from May, 2018 - March, 2022, and to the personnel and medical staff at Ivy Park, Claremont Place, and Mission Hospice who provided Esther with exemplary care since March of 2022.
May Esther "Ter" Aceves rest in eternal peace.
