Emily Maria Vazquez was born on January 17, 1940 in Mexico City, Mexico to Luis Vazquez and Luz Maria Zepeda. She entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2019 in Montebello, California at the age of 79.
Emily arrived from Mexico City and was welcomed into the United States on July 3, 1960 at the age of 20. She became a Citizen of the USA on March 13, 1992. She was kind and hard working, providing for her family as a silk finisher in dry cleaning for 55 years. Never wanting to retire she worked at the Sizzler Restaurant, in Montebello, as a Salad Bar Assistant for 5 years. Her biggest job was being a single mother. With the help of her mother, she raised a daughter and then she helped her daughter raise 2 sons. Emily loved baseball, she was a big L.A. Dodgers and Angels fan. she enjoyed going to Disneyland with family and friends for many years. She loved music, dancing, romantic comedies, plays, reading, the moon and the stars. She believed in God and always prayed for everyone. Emily was a kind, humble, giving, strong, beautiful woman with the most beautiful smile. She always helped other and most of all she loved her family so very much.
Emily is survived by her loving daughter, Ann Short, of Montebello, CA, and her grandsons, Bryan C. Espinosa (Shawna) of Dallas, TX, and Steven J. Short Sr. of Montebello, CA. She leaves behind her great grandchildren, Melodee Espinosa of Dallas, TX, Mikah Espinosa of Dallas, TX, and Steven J. Short Jr. of Montebello, CA. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
