Elias Calderon, 67, was born on May 12, 1952 in Michoacan, Mexico to Andres H. Calderon and Glafira Gonzalez, and entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2019 in Downey, California.

With dedication and hard work, Elias spent over 40 years operating his own business working with recyclables.

Papa Honey was first and foremost a servant of God, a loving husband, loving father, incredible grandfather, and an outstanding friend. Anyone who knew Papa Honey knows of his generosity, work ethic, humility, and selflessness. He was someone who valued family first and was happiest when surrounded by friends and family. He enjoyed the family gatherings, his caldito de Pollo from mama merry, planting his fruit trees with mama merry, long walks, sleeping under a shaded tree, enjoying his time with grandchildren and his merry and most importantly reading his bible. Papa Honey would always mention how blessed he was with such a big loving family that he’d be filled with so much happiness and joy that his honey eyes would shine extra bright. He was an amazing man. His desire to help and give to anyone shows how immense his heart was. His greatest thing he’d give to someone was words of encouragement. Papa honey had a tremendous way with words, whether it was giving advice or speaking the word of God, he expressed himself in such a poetic and passionate form that it filled the room with encouragement, comfort, and love. Every word grandpa spoke had meaning behind it and it truly lifted someone’s spirits up. A man as humble and loving as Papa Honey will always be remembered by those of us who knew him and loved him. Although we will miss him, his smile, his advice, his love, we take consolation in the good feelings of our memories and know he is with his Heavenly Father and mama merry up above. Love you always.

Elias is survived by his loving family: Daughters, Veronica Calderon, Irma Delgado, Esperanza Calderon, Nancy Cielo, Sons, Ruben Calderon, Jesus Calderon, 15 Grandchildren, and other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
