EILEEN ANNE STRATTON, beloved wife, devoted aunt, cherished family member, and distinguished educator, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, in Whittier, California. Born on July 21, 1942, in Ireland, Eileen’s remarkable life was marked by unwavering dedication, kindness, and an enduring commitment to inspiring those around her.

Eileen’s early years in Ireland shaped her compassionate outlook and cultivated her lifelong passion for learning and teaching. Her journey eventually led her to the United States, where she made a lasting home and impact in California.

With grace and determination, Eileen devoted forty years of her life to teaching—a career through which she touched countless lives. Known for her empathy, patience, and wisdom, Eileen guided generations of students not only academically, but also in character, nurturing young minds and leaving an indelible mark on every classroom she entered. Her colleagues and pupils alike will remember her abiding commitment to education and the warmth she brought to her daily work.

Eileen was a steadfast presence for her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Stratton, whose partnership in life was a source of deep joy and mutual support. Eileen shared a close and meaningful relationship with her niece, Mary Hurley, and her nephew, Gavin, who will forever hold dear memories of her gentle spirit and caring heart. Also mourning her passing are her brother-in-law, Laurence T. O'Donnell, and her sister-in-law, Marleen Ramsey, each of whom held a special place in Eileen’s life.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Eileen’s extraordinary life at a visitation on August 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Risher Mortuary & Cremation Service, located at 1316 W Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640. A Rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. during this time at the same location.
