DEAN CATES

Dean Allen Cates, 64 years old of Chino Hills, passed away peacefully on August 11th, 2025.

Dean was born in Montebello, California to Katherine (Kay) Cates, and Gerald (Jerry) Cates of Garden City, Kansas.

Dean graduated from Anaheim Hills High School. He rode professional motorcross for many years, until joining the family business, Cates Distribution. He assumed ownership after his dad's retirement.

Dean was married to Doreen Rivera for seven years.

Dean loved fishing, boating, riding motorbikes, quads, and camping.

Dean is survived by his twin sister, Deetra (Dede) Cates, his son Garrett Dean Cates, his wife Breanna Marie Cates, his granddaughter Emma Jane Cates, and his daughter Toni Miano. His four dogs, Rocky, Rio, Max, and Ruger, were loved by Dean very much.
