Obituary

DARRELL HOMER HEACOCK, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and respected member of the community, passed away on July 27, 2026, in Montebello, California, at the age of 93. Born on December 24, 1932, in Los Angeles, California, Darrell led a rich and purposeful life defined by his dedication to his family, his profession, and his service to his country.

Throughout his long and fulfilling career, Darrell was a prominent realtor and broker. He founded and operated Heacock Realty, where he dedicated 65 years to serving his clients and building enduring relationships within the real estate community. His unwavering commitment to professionalism and integrity established him as a trusted figure in his field and a mentor to many.

A proud veteran, Darrell also served his country as a member of the Army, carrying with him a spirit of service that remained evident in all aspects of his life.

Darrell's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Sylvia Heacock; his devoted daughters, Valerie Heacock, Darelyne Heacock, and DeAnne H. Susino; his cherished sister, Katheryne H. Nighswonger; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Darrell Capranica and Ashton Haze Heacock. Each of them continues to be inspired by his steadfast support, wise counsel, and boundless affection.

He is preceded in death by his father, Homer R. Heacock; his mother, Neva B. Heacock; his brother-in-law, William O. Nighswonger; and by his wife, Joanne Heacock, whose memory remained dear to him throughout his days.

Darrell leaves behind a profound and lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, generosity, and dedication to both his family and his passions will be missed greatly but will continue to guide those closest to him.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Darrell Homer Heacock will be held on August 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Plymouth Church Whittier, located at 5838 Magnolia Ave., Whittier, CA 90601. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Darrell are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for a life well-lived.
