In Loving Memory of Chakresworee Pradhan

October 15, 1953 – May 25, 2025

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our mother Chakresworee Pradhan, who departed this life on May 25, 2025, in Downey, California, at the age of 71.

Born on October 15, 1953, in Bhaktapur, Nepal, she lived a life of quiet strength, deep devotion, and heartfelt compassion. She dedicated over 30 years to her calling as a teacher, nurturing generations of students with wisdom, patience, and care. Her legacy as an educator and mentor will continue to live on in the many lives she helped shape.

She is survived by her elder daughter, Hima Pradhan, her son-in-law Kailash Malla, and their daughters Kaya Malla and Norah Malla; and by her younger daughter, Rima Pradhan, her son-in-law Sunil Hada, and their daughters Sharna Hada and Eva Hada. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and role model—deeply loved and endlessly cherished by her family.

She will be remembered for her gentle presence, unwavering strength, and the deep love she gave so freely to her family and community.

A public viewing will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Risher Mortuary & Cremation Service, Montebello, California, followed by a reception at the Downey home. The cremation ritual will follow on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM, also at Risher Mortuary & Cremation Service.
