CATALINA CONSUELO GARCIA, born on January 15, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, in Redding, California. Catalina, affectionately known for her warm hospitality and culinary talents, particularly her flavorful beans, was a loving and caring individual. Her home was always a refuge, providing a warm place for family and friends alike.
Catalina's legacy continues through her devoted children: daughters Anita Hernandez of Bullhead City, AZ, Norma Castro of Montebello, and Susie Fuhs of Las Vegas, NV; and sons J. Richard Garcia and Robert Garcia, both of Whittier. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren: Vanessa Ariel Castro of Milwaukee, OR, Veronica Alicia Moreno of Yucaipa, Chloe Fuhs of Blanchard, OK, Faith Christensen of Colorado Springs, CO, Vincent Alexander Castro of San Gabriel, Breana Fuhs of Tucson, AZ, Paige Fuhs of Miami, FL, Aiden Fuhs of Macon, GA, Laura Isabel Herrera of Whittier, Daymien Joe Herrera of Whittier, Juliet Ronnie Herrera of Whittier, and Amylia Rose Garcia of Whittier. Catalina was also blessed with great-granddaughters Natalia Alicia Moreno of Yucaipa and Leliana Daisy Christensen of Colorado Springs, CO.
She is survived by her siblings Sadie Bonsal of Anderson, Martin Crespin of Anderson, Carmen Crespin of Almo, KY, Marylou Escutia of Baldwin Park, and Lucinda Crespin of San Bernardino. Additionally, she is survived by several sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces, all of whom will remember her fondly.
Catalina was preceded in death by her beloved father, Benito Crespin, mother, Maria T. Crespin, husband, Jose Natividad Garcia, and siblings Teresa Trujillo, Benito P. Crespin, and Juan F. Crespin. She also mourned the loss of her nephews Johnny Licon, Michael Rios, and Albert Ramirez.
A Mass to honor Catalina's life will be held on June 27, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Pico Rivera, CA, beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by a burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Rosemead, CA, starting at 10:30 AM.
