Obituary

Byron Robert Hobbis, Jr. was born on April 10, 1943, and passed peacefully on September 18, 2026. He was raised in Norwalk, CA, where his parents, Byron Hobbis, Sr. and Florence M. Hobbis (Buttler) resided.

He graduated from Norwalk High School as the first class to do so in 1960. He attended Biola College from 1962 to 1972, with time off to join the Army during the Vietnam War. He received his first BA there in Physical Education and a Minor in History. His second BA was from Cal State LA in Industrial Arts. He also earned his teaching credential and a Master's in Special Education.

He was a truck driver for 20 years, taught school for 20 years, and was in the service, Army and National Guard, for 26 years.

He was a devoted husband and loving father who raised two sons, Robert and Matthew. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna, with whom he shared 59 wonderful years of marriage; his sons, Robert and Matthew; and his six cherished grandchildren, Connor, Sydney, Bobby, Lorelei, Abigail, and Luke. He loved life, and he will be missed.
