Beatrice “Bea” Reed (Strasburg), age 85, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, March 26th, 2022. Bea was born January 10, 1937, in Boise City, Oklahoma to Clarence Strasburg and Helen Lucille Cochran.
A graduate of Boise City High School in 1954 Bea was an avid basketball player and a drum majorette during her time in high school. On June 6th, 1954, Bea married her beloved Delbert Reed, tallying up 67 years of marriage and memories together. They moved to Southern California in 1956.
After moving, Bea began a job at Harvey Aluminum, but her real-life work was in child care for over 40 years.
She touched the lives of many young children through her compassion, structure, humor, and intelligence. Bea was also a workhorse between mowing the lawn, tending her garden, and keeping the floors spotless. She was known to always have a nice tan from staying warm in the California sunshine. She was a crafter, knitting many baby blankets and afghans over the years for family members. She also enjoyed counted cross stitch and spent many hours making gifts and Christmas ornaments for friends and family. Bea loved hosting holiday gatherings that extended to making friends feel like family.
Beatrice is survived by her loving family: Husband, Delbert Reed, Children, Pamela Allen and her husband Richard, Michele Durbin and husband Scott, Michael Reed. Grandchildren, Amanda Riedel and husband Brandon and Jenna Durbin. Brother Robert Strasburg and wife Dora, along with many nieces and nephews and other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Beatrice was predeceased by her siblings, Herman Strasburg, Sam Strasburg, and Jean Harkins.

Service for Bea will be held at Risher Mortuary on Friday, April 8th. Family and friends can visit the family from 10:30 am to 11:30 am with services at 11:30 am. Graveside will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park at 1:00 pm.
