When he spoke of his loved ones, he had a special twinkle in his eyes. He loved his Mom and siblings. He adored his children and grandchildren. Their success was his success. Their pain and failures were his pain and suffering. He took time to take his grandchildren on summer vacations, to create happy memories with them. Arturo's faith in God was strong. During his difficult times, he turned to God for guidance and strength, often, reading the Holy Bible. He never once blamed God for his sufferings and illness. He never complained. He took his pain and suffering in silence.

Arturo enjoyed sports. Baseball was his favorite, ending up as a referee in his younger years. He was an avid Dodger fan. He loved to watch the games at Dodger Stadium with his family.
