It is with deep respect and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Amado Medina Figueroa, who departed this world peacefully on August 10, 2026, in Whittier, California. Born on October 31, 1945, in the Philippines, Amado’s life was one marked by unwavering dedication, quiet strength, and a steadfast devotion to those he loved.
Amado began his journey in the Philippines, where his early years shaped the strong character and resilient spirit that would define him throughout his life. In time, Amado made his way to the United States, settling in California, where he built a new life while always cherishing the rich culture and heritage of his birthplace.
For over 35 years, Amado was a devoted dealer at a casino, building a career anchored in diligence, reliability, and professionalism. His steadfast work ethic was matched only by the warmth and friendliness he extended to both colleagues and patrons, leaving a positive mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him in his professional life.
Beyond his career, Amado's heart belonged to his family, most especially to his beloved wife, Ligaya Figueroa, who survives him. Together, they shared years filled with companionship, mutual respect, and enduring love—a testament to the meaningful bonds that Amado cherished most. He is fondly remembered as a supportive and caring husband, whose presence brought comfort and joy.
The legacy of Amado Medina Figueroa endures in the countless memories he leaves behind—through stories lovingly recounted, in gentle smiles, and in the meaningful impact he made during his journey. His integrity, kindness, and commitment to both work and family will remain as an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Family and friends are invited to honor Amado’s memory at a visitation on September 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Risher Mortuary & Cremation Service, located at 1316 W Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640. A Mass will be held on September 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Church, 1022 West Cleveland Avenue, Montebello, CA 90640.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, the values and memories Amado gave to those around him will live on in their hearts. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and his life well lived.
