February 15, 1944 - October 29, 2021
Larry Glenn Farmer, 77, was born on February 15, 1944 in Savannah, Georgia to Glenn Farmer and Lucile Kahlstorf, and entered into eternal rest on October 29, 2021 in Downey, California. Larry served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged for his faithful service to our great nation. Larry also dedicated over 32 years of hard work while employed as a truck driver working in the transportation industry. Larry's daughter, Danielle, had this to say about her father: What can be said about Larry Farmer? Well, for starters he was my dad, he was a kind person who just wanted to see people laugh. He was quick witted, always there with a joke, sometimes so quick they had to be explained. He didn’t always show his emotions, but when he did they were big. When his horse was about to cross the finish line at Los Al’, or alternatively when his horse lost in the next race. I remember always being so amused that he got so excited or so mad, but betting on horse racing was one of those things he just really loved to do. He also liked to go down to the local card club and play some hands of Pai Gow Poker. Afterward we would get to relive it as he gave us a play by play of each of his hands. Most everything sparked a story for my dad. Being a truck driver for so long, everywhere we went we got a “I delivered there once” or a grand tale of his journeys across the country. He loved to drive, and my mom and I loved to be chauffeured. Road trips seemed to be his favorite, getting to go places he may not have gone before, or more often getting to experience us experiencing it for the first time. It could have been the food too, we always had snacks for the road, but really road trips were an excuse to try new places. Although those outings were things that made him happy, I think nothing made him happier than my mom and I. As long as we were all together he was happy just staying home, being the master of the remote, ruling over whatever football game was on, or he would be watching Fox News staying up to date on the current political events, he always had to be ready for his next debate. He brought a lot of happiness into the world and he will be missed dearly. Larry is survived by his loving family: Wife, Angela Farmer, Daughter, Danielle Farmer, Sister, Linda Knapp, numerous nephews and nieces, along with other family and friends who will miss him dearly. Larry was preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 1 sister. Condolences for the family can be sent through our website.
