January 7, 1979 - January 27, 2021
Laquita Del Carmen Hollinquest was born to Barbara Carmen Wilson and Lovell Hollinquest on January 7th, 1979 in Los Angeles, California. She was the oldest of 4 siblings; two sisters and a brother. She was not only a role model but also a mother figure to her two sisters and brother. At the age of 18, Laquita met Robert Lee Brown and had her first son, Raemond Rashad Brown. Raemond was her first love, her sunshine, and her reason to keep moving towards a better life. Shortly after having Rae, Laquita decided to return to Los Angeles from Bakersfield for a fresh start and to be closer to her family. She then graduated school, became a licensed nurse, and dedicated her career to caring for the elderly. Her generous and loving nature made her the perfect nurse. She loved her patients and her patients loved her. After establishing herself in her career, she then found love with her long term partner turned husband, Frank Bravo. Soon after, she bought a home that she always called the family home. After being a sister and a mom, Laquita had the honor of becoming an aunt. In 2011, Laquita became an aunt for the first time with the birth of her nephew Vincent Aguiar, and in 2014 with her nephew Isaac Aguiar and for the last time with her nieces Leviyah and Journey Hollinquest in 2015 and 2019. Laquita wasn’t just someone’s mother, sister, aunt, friend, etc.,. She was the life of the party. Anyone who knew her knew that she always went out of her way to make people comfortable and happy. Whether it was celebrating herself, someone else or just life in general, she always managed to make a good time a great time. Laquita is survived by her son Raemond. She leaves behind three siblings (Deandra, Cheyenne, and Lovell). Her 4 nieces and nephews (Vincent, Isaac, Leviyah, and Journey), her spouse Frank, her best friend Iwilla (Starr), and the countless friends and family who loved and cared for her very much. She now joins her grandmother Soledad and her mother Barbara in eternal rest. Thank you for sharing your light and love with us. We are all going to miss you.
